Please note that these general terms and conditions are general in their nature only. All rentals are taken out in strict accordance with the terms below but also with the Rental Agreement that you sign on arrival. Please note that anything in the Rental Agreement takes precedence over anything written here. Inclusions.
1car1 Car rental rates are fully inclusive of unlimited mileage, third party insurance, collision damage waiver liability (CDW), Vehicle Registration and Recovery Fee (VRRF) and GST. Our commercial and prestige vehicles come with a 100km per day limit. Extra mileage is charged at 0.20cents a km ex. GST.

Excluded costs.
Personal Accident Insurance, Fuel, GPS, Baby seats and Extra Drivers. On commercial & Prestige vehicles any usage over and above 100km's/day is also subject to additional charges. Delivery and collection of your car can be arranged, but it is subject to an additional cost. Also excluded are out of hour's charges, optional extras such as child seats, extra drivers and Satellite Navigation Systems. Depending on the rate given to you we may also offer you the chance to reduce your Damage Liability Fee. On certain rates this may include windscreen and tyre cover.

Van and Utility Rental Conditions.
Vans and Ute’s may only be driven in NSW and is subject to a maximum of 100 Kilometres per day any extra kilometres are charged at 0.20c per km
Van and Ute insurance is subject to an excess of $3200.00 irrespective of how the damage is caused and can be reduced to $990 by paying $30.00 per day.

Payment Methods.
Bookings are payable on arrival with a valid credit card in the name of the driver and be present at time of payment. However special offers and high peak periods Credit Card details may be required at time of booking to secure vehicle. We accept all major credit cards however American Express incurs 5% surcharge. Unfortunately we cannot accept the following cards or methods: Bank Card (Eftpos), Diners, Cash or cheque. We do not accept 3rd party payment it must be a named driver present with identification. Payment made via debit card is accepted with excess frozen as bond and refunded on return. If Client does not have a credit card then we are unable to rent a vehicle.

Another Person’s Credit Card.
With PRIOR APPROVAL, a credit card, belonging to ANOTHER PERSON, Who must be present at the time of rental with photo ID and address verification (utility Bill), Valid Driver’s Licence and Credit Card will be added to the contract as a driver.

Deposits.
All clients must produce a valid credit card in the name of the driver upon collection of the car as a form of deposit. If you do not personally have a credit card then you must have a driver on the agreement that does have one. Cash or Cheque deposits are not accepted.

Minimum Age for Vehicle Groups.
Drivers must be over the age of 25 for standard vehicle and 30 yrs for MPV and prestige vehicles.

Documents and Identification.
Drivers must be 25 years of age (23-24 subjects to terms) hold a full licence and must be able to produce the following documents:
* Major Credit Card or Debit Card in the main driver’s name.
* Full Valid Driving licence With Photo.
* 2nd form of identification with address (e.g. Utility Bill or Bank statement or Passport for non Australian residence)
All additional drivers must be present at the time of hiring and must be able to produce a full valid driving licence conforming to the stipulations above.

Drivers Licence.
1car1 requires Drivers produce a full, valid licence With Photo written in English before the commencement of each rental. Provisional or Learners Licence are not accepted. All International hirers must provide a readable unexpired licence from their country of origin. If the license is not in English, an international driving licence Permit must be provided along with your driving license from country of origin and must be backed up with a passport. *Please note: It is the driver's responsibility to ensure that he/she has the appropriate driving licence. No refunds will be given for rentals rejected due to incorrect licence. Our reservations agent must be informed of any endorsements on the driver's licence, as we may not be able to take your booking. No refunds will be given for rentals rejected due to non-disclosed endorsements.

Additional Services Additional extras to the rental are payable locally at time of hire.
• One-Way Rental Charge 1CAR1 offers one-way rentals between branches at a cost of $30.00. This charge will be added to the Rental Cost as time of booking or when vehicle is returned to another location than Pre-booked.
• AGE / Young Driver Fee Age restrictions are: A to B - 23 and over, C and above - 25 and over, No upper Limit. All renters must be over the age of 25. However 23-24 year-old renters will pay a young driver surcharge of $50 per day and will be authorised to drive up to a Class B (or economy-size) vehicle.
• Kilometres Standard Vehicles have unlimited Kilometres included in the rental. Prestige, Mercedes Vito and Commercial vehicles have a 100km limit per day. Any Extra kilometres are charged at 0.20c per kilometre.
• Additional Driver Charge $7.70 per day. All Drivers must be present at the time of hiring and are subject to the same restrictions as the main driver
• Child Seats Available at a cost of $7.50 per day capped at 75.00 per seat. Seats must be Pre-booked and are subject to availability. Childs age and approximate weight must be provided prior to pick up to confirm legal require seat is available. Please note that for legal reasons, drivers are responsible for fitting all child seat
• GPS On request only and subject to availability. They are not guaranteed. GPS are $9.90 per day capped at $99.00.
• Insurance Reduction Option
you have the option to reduce the excess on your hire vehicle at a cost of $30.00 - $50.00 per day.

Damage Waiver.
Damage Waiver coverage relieves the Customer from the full cost of the vehicle in the event of an accident (an excess of $3000 - $5,500 depending on the vehicle will still apply).

Vehicle groups:
• Yaris to Avensis - $3000 excess
• Vans and Ute’s - $3000 excess
• Premium Cars and 4WD’s - $5,500.00
• For all vehicles a Single vehicle excess of $2,000.00 is applicable for damage caused by hirers without a second party involved.
The excess is not taken unless damage or accident occurs. An imprint of your credit card is taken on arrival.

Excess Reduction.
Excess protection can be purchased to reduce the Multi vehicle excess or single vehicle excess or both for a fee. These are advised and offered on arrival.
Bronze Cover: Included in all standard vehicle rentals with the standard excess. Windscreen and tyres are not included.
• Silver Cover: Reduces the Multi Vehicle Excess to $440 for an additional $30.00 per day. Third Party Property, Loss & Theft, Windscreen and tyres not included.
• Gold Cover: Reduces both Multi vehicle and single vehicle liabilities down to $440 for $40.00 per day. Third Party Property, Loss & Theft, Windscreen and tyres not included
• Platinum Cover: Reduces both Liabilities down to $0 for $50.00 per day. Includes Third Party Property, Loss & Theft, Windscreen and tyres.
• Prestige Bronze Cover: Included in Prestige and Vans hires. Multi vehicle accident insurance is $5500.00 with Single vehicle $2000.00. Third Party Property, Loss & Theft, Windscreen and Tyres are included.
• Prestige Silver Cover: Reduces the Multi vehicle excess to $1500.00 for Prestige and $990.00 for vans for $30.00 per day.
This varies by age of renter, location, type of vehicle and rate. Note: Excess Reduction does not cover certain loss or damage and cannot be waived in full for prestige and commercial vehicles

Fuel Policy.
All vehicles are provided on a Like for Like basis. We provide the vehicle with an amount of fuel requesting that you return the vehicle with the same amount. Failure to do this will result in a charge for refuelling. If the vehicle is returned with the same level of fuel as delivered, then there is no refuelling charge payable. If not, the cost of any fuel used to match the original level noted at the beginning of the rental, will be charged at a premium above the normal rate. Please check locations for exact price.
N.B. Fuel prices will be reviewed on a monthly basis. This means that we will not ask for a fuel deposit when the vehicle is collected.

Out of Hours Charges.
In most locations flights will be met and cars supplied outside of normal working hours, however there may be an additional charge for this service payable locally. This will be quoted when your flight timings are given to us. Please note that in the event that a flight is delayed, causing the car pick-up to fall outside normal working hours, the additional charge will be made.

Driving Convictions.
Drivers who have been convicted of a major driving offence in the past five years will not be accepted. Any driver who is suspected of being under the influence of any substance will be refused hire at 1car1 own discretion.

Deliveries.
Delivery and collection can be arranged subject to availability and location.
For location within a radius of 10km of a branch Hires must be 3 days minimum, locations between 10km and 40km radius require 5 days minimum. Full address including postal code and a contact number are required. Delivery and collection times are not confirmed at the time of booking, you must contact the relevant branch to confirm times at least 24 hours prior to the start date. Charges do apply

Flight information.
If arriving at an airport locations please provide flight details in case of delayed flights.
It is essential that 1car1 be given the correct flight number and arrival time at the time of booking. 1car1 does not accept any liability for problems arising from incorrect flight information being provided

Cancellation and Amendments / Refunds.
All cancellations must be in writing/email/phone within 48hours of commencing hire, for cancellations made 24 hours before pick up a one day cancellation fee will apply. Failure to do so will result in a "No Show" and no refund will be given.
No refunds will be given for rentals ended early, Collected late, No Shows or Cancelled after the rental start date/time. During Peak Seasons i.e.: Christmas and Easter no show or cancellation fee is 3 days amount. Please note 1CAR1 have the right to refuse a hire if the driver is deemed unfit at the time of hire - In this instance a full refund will NOT be granted. All Amendments must be in writing to 1car1 reservations and are subject to availability and current pricing. If you need to amend a booking while on hire you must contact the local branch.

No Show.
If renter is delayed in collecting their car, they should contact the depot where they are collecting the car. If the reserved vehicle has not been collected after 1 hour of the reserved collection time, the reservations will automatically be cancelled. Please note that no refund is made on no-shows.

Pricing Fluctuations.
Rental Charges are seasonal and may be subject to change without prior notice. All reservations received prior to a pricing change will be honoured at their original rate when a deposit is made. Car type / suitability.

1car1 is unable to guarantee a particular make or model of car. The car shown on your voucher is for guidance only and may be substituted for an alternative, similar or upgraded car (at no extra cost). If you are dissatisfied in any way with the standard of the car, you must advise us immediately in writing within 30 days of your return. The Company cannot accept liability where this procedure is not followed.

Travelling Restrictions.
There is no problem in taking your vehicle interstate as long as you inform 1car1 at the beginning of the hire and adhere to the regulations as set out in our rental agreement. Failure to do so may result in you being charged for excess kilometres and full charges will apply if the vehicle is damage or breaks down outside NSW. At all times your vehicle must stay on sealed roads of Australia. Even our 4WD vehicles are not insured to be taken off road. Some areas of certain states are not covered by the rental agreement. If you have any queries about this please bring it up at the time of renting.

ALL VEHICLES MUST BE RETURNED TO NSW/1CAR1 Depot or Authorised location NO ACCECTPTIONS.

Area of Limitations.
You and any authorised driver must not, unless authorised in writing by the Company, drive or take the Hire vehicle:
(a) Into Western Australia, Tasmania or Northern Territory;
(b) Above the snow line in New South Wales and Victoria (being Jindabyne in New South Wales and Bright and Mt Beauty in Victoria) from the beginning of June until the end of September;
(c) To Kangaroo Island.
(d) On beaches or through streams, dams, rivers or flood waters.
(e) In Queensland:
(i) Beyond Chillagoe in a westerly direction;
(ii) Beyond Normanton in a southerly direction;
(iii) Beyond Cape Tribulation in a northerly direction;
(iv) To Stradbroke Islands or Moreton Island.

Traffic Offence / Infringement Notices.
Drivers are responsible for all charges relating to a traffic offences or infringement occurred during the period of hire. If you incur a fine whilst in our vehicle then we have to process an administration charge of $60/ fine to have the related charge issued in your name. We strongly recommend that if you know you have incurred a fine whilst in our vehicle that you pay this before it reaches our office. This way we can ensure that you do not have to pay any administration charges that are not necessary.
* The administration fee does not cover the traffic offence charges.

Toll Charges.
In the various states throughout Australia there are toll ways and roads which carry a charge to use them. Example is the Sydney Harbour Bridge. You are responsible for all charges associated with these. If any of these charges come back to our office then we have to process these and as a result an administration charge of $25 per infringement is debited from your credit card. Toll are payable within 48 hours.

Procedure in the Event of a Motor Incident.
In the event of an accident occurring with our vehicle, there are several things that to do:
• Contact emergency services for any injuries.
• Get Details of the other party & witnesses
• Do not admit liability
• Contact the accident helpline on 02 9963 7200 during working hours.

• Fill out the accident report form located in the vehicle.
• Inform your local branch within 4 working hours

You need to perform the actions above as soon after the accident as possible to avoid any complications with your claim and within the regulations as stated on your rental agreement. Failure to follow these correct procedures may null and void your insurance policy with us.
Please note that initially the insurance excess will be taken from your credit card until we can determine liability and this has been confirmed by the other party. You should retain copies of all rental documentation in the event an insurance company is involved. Failure to do this may result in your being fully liable for any damages that may happen.

Breakdown Procedure.
In the event of a mechanical breakdown your vehicle is covered by various motoring organizations.
If you have a flat tyre then this is at your own cost.

Complaints.
If you have a problem during you rental, please inform us immediately so that we can endeavour to put things right. 1car1 will not hold themselves responsible for the non-performance of anything that is beyond their control or when they are not notified of a problem at the point when remedial action can be taken. In the unlikely event that a complaint cannot be resolved at the time, you should write to our Customer Services Department within 30 days of the issue arising. You can also email any issues to customerservice@1car1.com.au or call +61 (0) 2 9963 7200. If you fail to take any of these steps this will hinder our ability to put any problem right and/or investigate it fully and any right you may have to receive compensation will be reduced or completely invalidated. General Conditions.

You should satisfy yourself that you understand and agree to its terms and conditions as you will be subject to, and must comply with these terms. All bookings are subject to our terms and conditions as detailed on the Rental Agreement and in this document. No other terms, conditions and warranties, expressed or implied by law, custom and course of dealing shall form part of any contract between 1car1 and our clients except for those terms implied by law whose application is mandatory.

The client acknowledges that in making a booking with 1car1 it does so only on the basis of the material contained in this document. All other statements or representations made by 1car1, its employees, or agents are of no effect unless confirmed by us to the client in writing. You should satisfy yourself that you understand and agree to its terms and conditions as you will be subject to, and must comply with these terms. 1car1 reserves the right to levy any government increase in GST that may be introduced after the production of this document. 1car1 liability to the client for any loss, damage, injury or accident whatsoever, whether arising out of negligence, breach of contract or any other cause shall not exceed $2000 or twice the invoiced price of rental of the vehicle concerned (whichever is greater) provided that nothing in this clause shall limit 1car1 liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

1car1 will not be held responsible for anyone driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, causing wilful damage, off road driving or driving without due care and attention. The client will indemnify 1car1 against this in respect of such claims this list is not exclusive.
